Published: 6/25/20266 min read
Planning Your Moving Boxes One of the most frustrating aspects of moving is running out of boxes halfway through packing. Having a proper box count estimation saves time and eliminates last-minute hardware store runs.
How Many Boxes per Room Size? * **Bedroom**: Average of 20 Small, 15 Medium, and 5 Large boxes. * **Kitchen**: Highly dense. Requires ~10 Small, 15 Medium, and 5 Heavy-Duty Dish barrels. * **Living Room**: Mostly large but light items. Requires ~10 Medium and 15 Large boxes. * **Bathroom**: Requires ~10 Small and 5 Medium boxes.
Golden Rules of Packing * **The Weight Rule**: The heavier the item, the smaller the box. Books go in small boxes. Blankets and pillows go in large boxes. * **Never leave empty space**: Fill gaps in boxes with packing paper, towels, or bubble wrap to prevent crushing during transit. * **Seal top and bottom**: Use premium 2-inch packaging tape. Run three parallel strips across the bottom seams of every box.
